Hi all,
I’m taking a little pause from the regular AI for Kids Weekly newsletter this week. I’m managing my autoimmune condition, and while I usually try to push through, my body is making it very clear that this is a week for rest.
May 30 was World MS Day, and as someone living with multiple sclerosis, it is always a reminder that even when you are used to pushing through, sometimes your body says, “Not this week.”
I look forward to being back next week with the regular roundup of AI news for parents, teachers, and the kids we love.
But I did want to share one exciting update: the AiDigiCards sample deck came in!
(For anyone new here, AiDigiCards is built around a simple belief: AI literacy should start at the kitchen table, not on a tablet. Before kids run into AI through apps, ads, algorithms, or chatbots, I want them to have a safe, simple way to understand what AI is, how it works, and how to think critically about it. The first deck, the ABCs of AI Activity Deck, was funded on Kickstarter, and you can learn more about the project here.)
I finally got to unbox the first sample of the ABCs of AI Activity Deck, and I was way too excited not to share it. This deck has gone from an idea in my head to a real thing kids will soon be able to hold, play with, and learn from at the kitchen table.
You can watch the unboxing video here:
And if you want to see more of what the deck offers, check this out.
And while I’m taking a slower week, I’d love to hear from you.
What was your favorite AI for kids, tech, education, or parenting news this week? Send it my way. I may include a few reader favorites in next week’s issue.
Thanks for being patient with me while I take care of myself. I appreciate this community more than you know.
See you next week,
Amber Ivey (AI)
